The Design Process

Great design doesn't happen by accident — it's the result of a clear, intentional process. At Zo and Co., we approach every project in three stages:

1. Explore → 2. Define → 3. Execute

Every client and space is different, so while no two projects are identical, here's what you can generally expect when working with us. Honest, open communication is at the core of everything we do — we believe the best outcomes come from real collaboration.

EXPLORE | SCOPE

This is where we listen. We visit your space, understand how you use it, what's not working, and what you're drawn to. Through our Design DNA exercise, we define your aesthetic and establish your budget and timeline. From there, we present an initial design direction along with a transparent cost estimate covering design fees, materials, shipping, installation, and applicable taxes. Once we're aligned, we formalize the relationship with a signed contract.

DEFINE | DESIGN CREATION

Here's where your space starts to take shape. We present custom mood boards, layouts, and material samples — fabrics, paint, wallpaper, finishes — and refine the direction meeting by meeting. Each round gets more detailed: renderings, elevations, product specifications, color palettes. We move forward only when you're confident in every decision.

EXECUTE | BUILD & REVEAL

With your approvals in place, we take it from here. We manage the full process — coordinating with vendors, contractors, and our studio team — so you don't have to. We represent your interests from first delivery to final installation, and when it's done, we unveil a space that's exactly what you envisioned.

    Actively collaborate with Builders throughout the build to review plans and manage design execution.

    We help manage all final deliveries and styling, ensuring the space is client-ready upon handover.
